First Online Customer Orders Again!

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

There are certain names I will probably never forget. One of those names is from the very first customer who placed an order for ViaBoxes on our website on July 23, 2005. It was very exciting to see the order come through. I wish there were a way we could have framed our first one dollar bill, but I did keep the printed email receipt for a long time.

Since that first order, we have sold over 20,000 ViaBoxes and connectable accessories to families in all 50 states across the country. Inspired by the natural messiness of children, ViaBoxes were originally designed as toy boxes.  The site at the time was called viatoybox.com, but as our kids have grown up and their needs have changed, our original ViaBoxes have been used for more than just toys.

Original ViaToyBox

Just like the very first ones we shipped from the garage, our multi-functional real wood storage cubes are made with the same high quality birch plywood and eco-friendly paints and finishes. Since then, we have improved the ViaBoxes by adding more useful accessories, like Inside Shelves, Drawers and Racks, and offering them in other finishes, like Honey and Espresso.

We are grateful and encouraged when our customers return to order again because that’s the big idea behind ViaBoxes. You can use them for a long time and in so many ways because they are built with durable materials to outlast childhood. Plus, you can grow your furniture by connecting additional ViaBoxes and accessories. So, be confident in our little known company and our products. In six years, you may be ready to buy more, too. Thank you, Gerald, we really appreciate it!

Long Shelf with Six ViaBoxes

Friday, July 29th, 2011

Two customers sent us photos of their unique storage sets. Here are two great examples of using a Long Shelf with 6 ViaBoxes. The Long Shelf (and the Short Shelf, too)  securely connects through the sides of the ViaBoxes and gives you additional storage space. The Long Shelf is the same width as two ViaBoxes, and the Short Shelf is the same as one ViaBox.

2 Plus 2 With Shelves for Storage

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

We all know that two plus two is four, of course, and with four ViaBoxes you can do a lot. The bottom row of ViaBoxes could have colorful shaped fronts with easy access for kids toys and shoes. The upper sections could have Inside Shelves for other furnishings and books.

Plus, if you wanted to (re)arrange those another way you could split them up. Create a storage bench or toy box over here and a shelving unit over there. It’s really quite simple how you can move them around like that. It’s as easy as 2 plus 2.

Introducing the New Design Toy – I mean Tool. The Configurator

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

ViaBoxes Configurator

Finally, we did it! We, along with many of our customers, have dreamed of any easier way to design and preview a set of ViaBoxes.  And now we can with The NEW Configurator. So grab your computer, a cup of coffee, maybe your favorite stuffed animal, and zip on over to ViaBoxes.com and test out the new drag and drop interactive design tool.

Click and drag the ViaBoxes and Shelves to create the perfect configuration for your space. Then customize your storage set with Shapes, Doors, Inside Shelves, Racks, Drawers, Tops, and Bases. When you’re finished building simply click the Add to Cart button and each item will be listed.

This new tool allows you to design storage furniture like benches, TV stands, toy boxes, desks, and more. Plus, if you already own a set of ViaBoxes you can even use The Configurator to redesign a set before you move them around the room. Change your toy box into a new home office desk or closet organizer. Redesign ViaBoxes to become a craft table with plenty of storage or create a classy wine rack for your growing collection. Remember, whatever your storage needs are around the house, ViaBoxes will look great anywhere.

Via’s Second Grade Classroom

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Via at School

This new reading station looks really nice in Ms. Gennie’s class. There is plenty of storage for large books behind the colorful doors. Olivia told me that her classmates take turns sitting on the top Box during reading time.

We just connected 3 ViaBoxes with Doors together and then added one more that we rotated 90 degrees with an Inside Shelf. Also included is a Double Top and a Single Top in Honey. That finish goes great with the White ViaBoxes.

I can’t wait to see how well this holds up in the classroom. It should take plenty of abuse everyday from the 7 and 8 year olds. I’m not concerned. I know ViaBoxes can take it.

What’s that, Ms. Gennie? You would like more ViaBoxes? You need a new computer station? No problem! ViaBoxes can be used to create all kinds of furniture for school.

Northwest Storage Bench

Northwest Bench

Olivia helped me put this Northwest bench together. I mean, come on, look at all those toys! Once it was assembled we stuffed all those things safely inside. Plus, one of the best things about a Via Toy Box is that you don’t have to clear off the top to grab more toys.

This bench functions well near the back door. You can store shoes and backpacks, too.

Playtime!

Monday, April 12th, 2010

This little boy has the right idea. It looks like he has his own little place to play. The Via TOY Boxes make a good dividing wall to split up a bigger space. Thank you, Crystal in Singapore. It’s nice to see your adorable son playing around his toy boxes. It looks like he can get to all of his favorite stuff pretty easily.
